Race Entry
To enhance the level of the competition and welcome more international athletes to participate, elite athletes and wheelchair athletes are invited to race in the Kaohsiung Fubon International Marathon. Numbers of visually impaired runners, wheelchair athletes, foreign runners and elites are not limited.
- Elite Athletes
- To enhance the quality of the race, a special area at the front of the start zone is kept for the elites.
- To promote equality and equity in sports for the disabled, wheelchair athletes are invited by the organizer to race in Half Marathon. There will be a lead car for the racing wheelchair division.
- Qualification: those who had participated in any of the following races from 2019 to 2022.
- AIMS certified races
- World Athletics(WA) certified races – Elite Platinum Label、Elite Label、Label.

- The organizers will follow the instructions from CDC in terms of COVID-19 Safety Protocol. Requirements of the vaccination and proof of health will be updated according to the latest policy.

- Failure to complete the payment transaction before the deadline will not be eligible to enter the race.

- Visually Impaired Division
- The congenital or acquired functional limitation of the eye or eyes or the vision system. The person’s eyesight cannot be corrected to a normal level.
- Visually impaired runners who wish to participate in the race must register with a guide runner and upload a copy of the Disability Identification.
- Please evaluate your own ability and select the appropriate zone when completing online registration.
- Visually impaired runners must be accompanied during the entire race. Running alone on the course is prohibited and will be disqualified. Results will not be ranked.
- Timing chips must be properly placed on the visually impaired runners during the entire race. Exchanging the timing chips with guide runners is prohibited.
- Visually impaired runner and their guide runners will be given customized running vest. Please wear the running vest provided by the organizer on the race day. Fix the race bib in the front area of the chest.
- Visually impaired runners racing in Marathon must have 1-4 guide runners at maximum. Half marathon participants must have 1-2 guide runners at maximum. The guide runners must wait at the designated areas. Runners who fail to comply will be disqualified.
- Guide Runners
- Please register with the visually impaired runner. Fill in the personal information of the guide runner when completing online registration.
- The guide runners must wait at the designated areas. Runners who fail to comply will be disqualified. Results will not be ranked.
- Please wear the running vest provided by the organizer on the race day. Fix the race bib in the front area of the chest.
- The guide runner must use a rope to assist the visually impaired runner. The runner may receive verbal instruction or touching from the guide. The guide cannot pull the athlete, or propel the athlete forward by pushing.
- Guides may not use a bicycle, roller skates or other mechanical means of transport.
- Guide runners do not have to pay the entry fee, but must pay for the deposit of the timing chip. Guide runners will receive a running tank, race bib, a timing chip, finisher souvenirs and electronic finisher certificate.
- If the guide runner completes the entire race, he/ she will be ranked in the overall and age group. If there are more than one guide runner, the guide runners will receive their finisher certificates but will not be ranked.

Registration Information
- Registration opens on 1st July 2022 at 12:00 (GMT8+) and closes on 19th August 2022 at 23:59 (GMT+8). The registration system will be closed once the number of registrants has reached the quota.
- Online registration only. (Other means of registration are not accepted).
- No group registration.
- Payment transaction must be made within 3 days after completing online registration. Participants are responsible for confirming if the registration is successful by checking the status online.
- Important notice:
- Please provide correct personal information in details for registration. False reports are not allowed. If learned of any before the race, participant would be disqualified. No refund will be made. If a false report was discovered after the race, race results and rewards (including medals, certificates, prizes, and gifts etc.) would be canceled and taken back. No objections will be accepted. The vacant rankings and rewards would be filled in in order.
- Participants who fail to complete the payment transaction will be removed from the registration system. No objections accepted. Each participant can only register for one race category on the same day.
- Please take your own ability and physical condition into account and register for an appropriate category. Once you have completed the registration process, further changes to registration information such as name, ID no. and gender will NOT be accepted under any circumstances. The qualification is NOT transferrable. Participants who wish to change to another race category must request for a refund before re-starting a new registration under the circumstance that there are slots available in the desired race category.
- All personal information, including gender, are collected by the organizers based on Identification Card (or passport) provided.
- Participants can edit partial information on the registration system before completing the payment transaction; it will not be possible to demand a change in name, race category, and size of clothes once the transaction is completed. The registration information cannot be altered once the registration process and payment transaction are done.

- The proxy must present valid IDs of the athlete and the proxy, race number and proof of health of the athlete. Participants / Proxies must check the race packets on-site and sign to confirm all items have been collected.
- All participants must complete the check-in process during designated time. Participants who fail to do so will result in disqualification and will not be allowed to enter the racing courses. Referees have the right to expel participants who have no athlete bib from completing the event.
- If you were unable to check in and take part for the race and would like to retrieve your race package, please contact the execution unit by dialing 0972-436-006 before 11th November, 2022. Race packets will be sent by cash on delivery.

- In order to avoid affecting the progress of the competition, please compelet pick-up of packet (or check-in) in the service time provided by the organizer and no waiting when overtime.v. Participants must fill in the correct information including the receiver, address (P.O. box address is not allowed), and contact number in case the package cannot be delivered.
- Receiving the race package means check-in completion.
- Overseas participants should select the on-site check-in option.

Timing System
- Timing chips will be provided for all participants of Marathon, Half marathon, and 10KM group. Please securely attach the timing chip to your shoe. Do not place the timing chip in a bag, it may cause function failure to the timing chip.
- Please take care of your racing bib and your timing chip. If lost, they will not be re-issued. Those who do not wear their racing bibs will be disqualified from the competition. Runners without timing chips are eligible for the race but will not be timed.
- Please read the instruction manual beforehand or ask for assistance from the officials and volunteers at the race site. Improper usage will result in no record. The organizers do not hold responsibilities for such incidents.
- As per the World Athletics (WA) regulations (Article 19.24.5), gun times shall be used to for calculating the race times as well as for the placing results. Finishers can check their race results on the electronic certificates.
- Exchanging chips, wearing another runner’s chip or wearing more than one chip are prohibited. Any such violation will disqualify you from the race.
- There are check points throughout the race course. Please be sure to step on the timing mats. Missing records at the start line, finish line, or any check points will result in disqualification. Certificates will not be issued.
- Marathon and Half marathon participants shall start the race by their race numbers. (Elite runners shall start before the general runner group for both Marathon and Half marathon.) Please take your own ability into account at the start and throughout the course. Give way to faster runners.
- The organizers have the right to forfeit or discard any results in which participants have not crossed the starting line within 10 minutes after the starting time of each race division.
- Please return the timing chip after the competition and get back the deposit of NT$100. If you are not able to return the chip on the day of the event or unable to participate in competition after completing registration process, please return the chip at Rainbow Wings Integrated Marketing Co., Ltd. (1F, No.35, Ziqiang Rd., Zhonghe District, New Taipei City) to apply for deposit refund before 11th November 2022. Deposit cannot be refunded after the deadline.
Reward methods
The rewards of this competition are divided into “Overall ranking”, “National ranking”, and “Age group ranking”.Every cash prizes can only select one to receive. “Visually impaired group and wheelchair group” will be awarded with cash prizes and trophies.
- Prizes for overall ranking: cash prizes (currency: NTD) and trophies will be awarded to overall ranking of males and females. The admission quotas are explained as follows:

- If the amount of cash awarded is more than NT$19,999, then 10% tax will be deducted for winners who are citizens of Taiwan; 20% tax will be deducted for non-citizen winners
- Please bring a photocopy of ID or passport/ residence certificate to claim the prizes.
- The cash prize will be wire transferred to the preferred bank account provided by the winner after the result of the doping test is confirmed.
- Please bring your race bib and your ID with you when claiming your prize. No proxy allowed. All prize winners shall pick up and claim their prizes prior to the closing time of 12:00 pm on the day of the race event or else their prizes will be regarded as forfeited.

- Halloween Styling Competition Qualification and Awards
All runners who register for Marathon, Half Marathon, 10 KM group, and Costume Parade can sign up for the Creative Styling Competition.
- On-Site Signup: Runners who desire to participate in the competition should sign up at the designated place after finishing the race. Fill in the form (race number, name, ID number, address and mobile number) to complete the registration.

Penalties
Runners who commit the following violations listed below will be disqualified from the competition.
- Not fixing the racing bib number in the front area of the chest.
- Dispute with referees or not complying referees’ instructions.
- Using bicycles, strollers, roller skates, skateboards, or any other rolling devices on the race course. Bringing a pet (dog or cat) on the race course.
- Receiving food, drinks or sponges not provided by the organizers/ from another party (i.e., from spectators)
- Accidentally took other runners’ drinks during the course of the race.
- Timing chips must be installed to the shoe. Do not use metal materials for attachment. Runners without timing records at any of the check points will be disqualified and will not be given the finisher certificate.
Runners who commit the following violations listed below will be disqualified from the competition plus be banned from participating in Kaohsiung Marathon.
- Receiving assistance from another person or party during the competition i.e. taking vehicles, shouldering etc.
- Using false ID information during registration or race in the wrong race category.
- Violating the spirit of the sportsmanship (causing a disturbance or insulting officials and staff, etc.)
- Using a substitute or non-registered runner to run for you, or wear two or more timing ships during the race competition. The names of the runner and the substitute will be announced on the official website.
Disputes and Appealing
- Dispute: During the competition, runners may not dispute with referees. Runners cannot appeal for decisions based on athletic rules.
- Appealing: any dispute concerning the competition should be brought to the organizers’ attention within ten minutes after the race results are announced. A deposit of NT$3,000 must be submitted when making an appeal. If the judges of the review committee concludes that the dispute is not justified, the NT$3,000 deposit shall not be returned.

- Participants must pack their personal belongings in a storage bag and drop off at the Bag Check Area. Show the staff your race bib to retrieve your storage bag after the race.
- The staff will use two stickers: one on the race bib of the participant, the other one on the storage bag.
- Please do not keep any electronic devices, valuables, fragile items, fresh food, long umbrellas or hazardous items on the storage bag. The event organizers shall not be liable for the loss of any personal items.
- Please have your storage bag packed and ready before dropping off to avoid long queues.

- The organizers will take into consideration all factors such as typhoons, other possible natural disasters (AQI reaches above 200) or any force majeure to ensure the safety of all participants. If the organizers has made the decision to cancel, postpone the event, make changes to the event venue or race courses due to safety reasons, participants do not have the right to protest such a decision. Registrants will be entitled to a 30% refund of the entry fee.
- The staff will give out face masks at the Finish Area. Please evaluate your physical condition and put on a face mask as soon as possible after finishing the race.
- Please bring your ID card/ passport/ residence certificate with you.
- Please evaluate your own health conditions and ability before registering. Choose the race category which you are capable of finishing within time limit and be responsible for your safety.
- Participants must be in good health to take part in the competition. Do not participate in the race if you have health concerns, such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes etc. The organizers do not hold responsibility for participants who conceal such conditions and any incidents led by it.
- The referees, medical personnel or the traffic control officers have the right to stop participants from continuing the course depending on the participants’ physical conditions or the road safety.
- Please beware of traffic throughout the race courses.
- If the air quality index (AQI) reaches 151-200 and reaches the red standard of AQHI, the organizers will take necessary measures.
- The organizers reserve the right to cancel the event due to force majeure such as typhoons and other possible natural disasters (AQI reaches above 200) to ensure the safety of all participants.
- Aid Stations
- Water station arrangement: Refreshments prepared by participants are placed on the first table. Water and refreshments prepared by the organizers are placed on other tables.
- Marathon and Half marathon elite runners who prepare their own drinks shall hand in the drinks to the referee unit by 5:00 on 30th of October 2022. Please ensure the personal refreshments are clearly marked with your race number. The water stations you wish the personal refreshments to be distributed should also be clearly indicated.
- The race courses and the settings of aid stations have been approved. Runners without race bibs are prohibited from entering the race course and the aid stations.
- Cut-off Times
For safety concerns, check points will be closed at announced cut off times. Runners who fail to pass the check point before the cut off time must withdraw from the race and take the shuttle bus to return to the main venue.

- Registrants will receive electronic invoices.
- Triplicate uniform invoice will be sent via email 35 days after the event.
- Duplicate uniform invoice will be sent via email 35 days after the event. Taiwan’s receipt lottery winner will be notified via email within 10 days after the announcement of Taiwan’s receipt lottery.
- If a triplicate uniform invoice is required for business entities, please select and fill in the title and the tax ID number of the company when completing online registration.
- The information and the form of the invoice cannot be altered once the registration is completed.
Insurance
- Participants shall take their own ability and health conditions into account.
- This event follows the Large Gathering Security Management Act regulated by the Ministry of the Interior, R.O.C. This event provides runners with public accident insurance (all terms and details of the insurance are as detailed in the contract with the insurance company), the coverage range includes the inside of the competition venue, and includes runners, and staff.

Public Accident Insurance
- Public Accident Insurance Coverage: When the insured is legally liable to provide indemnification for third-party bodily injury, death, or third-party property damage caused by any of the following accidents during the policy period and in connection therewith receives a claim, insurance company is liable to the insured for indemnification:
- The insured has specified having accidents on the course route during the race on the insurance policy.
- Accidents caused by buildings, pathways, machines or other objects on the course route.
- The Public Accident Insurance does not indemnify against any of the following types of liability:
- Injuries caused by personal diseases.
- Illness caused by cardiovascular diseases or personal health issues, such as heart attack, shock, diabetes, heat exhaustion, heat stroke, high altitude illness, epilepsy, or dehydration etc. The organizers provide necessary emergency medical care on the day of event. The insurance compensation is not liable to illness caused by pre-existing medical conditions or personal health issues. Only injuries caused by accidents are liable for public liability insurance compensation.

Participants who have health issues or relevant medical history mentioned below are at high risk of sudden cardiac death. We do not provide health examinations. The participant is strongly advised to consult a doctor before taking any exercises.
Chest pain, breathing difficulty, and dizziness for no reason; sudden loss of consciousness; hypertension (> 140/90 mmHg); heart diseases; renal disorder; diabetes; hyperglycemia (total cholesterol > 240mg/Dl); family history of heart disease (one of your immediate family members has had a heart attack, a stroke, or was diagnosed with heart disease before the age of 60); epilepsy; COVID-19 etc.
- Insured Amount
- The insurance covers each physical injury for NTD 6 million, and 180 million for physical injuries of each unforeseen event or circumstances.
- The insurance covers NTD 2 million for property damage of each unforeseen event or circumstances.
- The insurance insured a highest amount of compensation of over NTD 364million (a total amount including physical injuries and property damage)

Disclaimer
The event organizers will assist runners that experience bodily harm or loss of property during the course of the competition in receiving insurance compensation, unless the competitor has already obtained compensation from another claim or is not eligible for compensation for any reasons as specified in the insurance contract. In these circumstances, the competitor may not file for damages or request compensation from the event organizers in any way.
Personal Information Protection
Before proceeding the registration procedure, please be sure to read and understand the event rules and regulations. By completing the registration process, you agree to authorize the organizers to use your personal information such as name, date of birth, age, ID number, address, photos and contact number etc. for event-related activities.
- The organizers have the copyright for all the photo images, video images and the race results of the 2022 Kaohsiung Fubon International Marathon. The organizers reserve the right to publish or broadcast any video, photographs or other types of materials recorded at this event for the purpose of reporting and promoting its activities.
- All results and event information will be imported to the database of athletes’ records and will be published on the official website and sponsors’ websites.
- I hereby agree that the collection, processing and use of personal data including videos and photos taken during the event shall be carried out in a way that respects the data subject’s rights and interests, and shall not exceed the necessary scope of specific purposes.
- I hereby waive all claim of copyright of the videos and photos taken during this event.
- Participants who wish to request for their photos during the race will have to contact cooperatives.
- If participants do not agree with the information above, please do not register for the race.
- All race participants upon registration for the race accept and understand all the articles and regulations in this document.
- As part of the global effort in conserving the resources of our natural environment, you are welcome to bring your own water bottle.
